TBSL1 product line is a range of modular RTUs that comprehends a common platform and a socket for a wireless modem daughter board.
This is a versatile outdoor RTU, acting as a multi-sensors wireless bridge whose modem board is not only interchangeable but also totally plug and play without having to update the platform’s FW. TBSL1 is a flexible platform offering a rich connectivity for multiple sensors interfaces usually used in agricultural applications: SDI-12, pulse and analog.
TBSL1 allows connecting up to 2 SDI-12 sensors (or more with a junction box), 2 analog sensors (voltage or current loop) and one pulse sensor (e.g. a rain gauge). Thanks to its large internal flash, TBSL1 can retain sensors measurements over a long period of time in case of communication outage with the backend server.
The platform is fully configurable: multiple types of sensors can be attached and each of them can operate on its own time basis for measurement.
TBSL1 is designed as a future proof RTU and a very flexible platform for IoT ecosystems.
TBSL1/RFB-LORA – MULTI-SENSORS LORAWAN RTU
The TBSL1/RFB-LoRa leverages the long range capability of LoRa radio.
The embedded LoRa modem supports both low (433/470MHz) and high (868/915MHz) LoRa radio bands, which makes TBSL1/RFB-LoRa suitable to be used anywhere without having to replace the RF board. TBSL1/RFB-LoRa is deployed as a unique node into a typical LoRaWAN network architecture, sending its packets to the gateway that relays them to the LoRaWAN server over a TCP/IP connection:
TBSL1/RFB-4WW AND TBSL1/RFB-NBIOT-CATM1 -CELLULAR MULTI-SENSORS RTU
TBSL1 is also available with a cellular modem supporting different radio technologies depending on the modem board:
TBSL1/RFB-4GWW: this is a TBSL1 variant with a global triple mode GSM/WCDMA/LTE modem.
TBSL1/RFB-NbIOT-CatM1: this is a TBSL1 variant with a global dual mode NB2/Cat M1 modem.
TBSL1 with cellular modem leverages MQTT protocol to exchange data with the application server, which ensures a robust transmission and guarantees a quality of service. Upon transmission interval the platform establishes a (secure) TCP/IP connection with the MQTT broker and publishes its measurements. At the same time the platform reacts to potential configuration messages it subscribed to.
Besides MQTT which is tailored for IoT systems, TBSL1 also allows exporting the measurements over HTTP or FTP.
TBSL1/RFB-WIFI MULTI-SENSORS RTU
A Wi-Fi version of TBSL1 is available and more suitable for indoor use (greenhouses, farms, factories, etc…) although it can still be used for outdoor application provided a Wi-Fi hotspot is reachable.
It shares the same features as the TBSL1 cellular version except that only MQTT export protocol is supported.
