RadoSenseX - a radon sensor and internet service that provides an easy and efficient way for you to monitor indoor air quality.
You will receive a small, portable radon sensor that can be moved between different rooms or buildings. Within 30 minutes of installation, you will have a first overview of the radon levels in the building. After just one week, you will have a clear picture of how radon behaves in the building at different times of the day.
Rapid actions to reduce radon have an effect. Until now, radon remediation has gone through the steps of checking - remedying - checking - remedying - checking over a very long time. This is often done with track film dosimeters that are set up for two to three months during the heating season. Therefore, it is discovered very late if the measures have not been sufficient or are incorrect.
Do radon remediation in days and weeks instead of months and years. With MidDec's new IoT service, RadoSense, you get a quicker overview of the radon problem and can take action faster, as well as see how the actions work. You can monitor indoor air quality 24 hours a day, every day, so you can quickly notice changes in the readings and take effective action.
Continuous measurement values give you knowledge of how radon problems look in the building. You can share the results online with your stakeholders, enabling collaboration and rapid action. You can try different measures to reduce radon problems and quickly see if they are effective. You can monitor that the selected measures have an effect over time.
This is a service that we will continuously develop together with our customers. Our ambition is to continue to be at the forefront and fill RadoSense with new types of sensors and new features that facilitate use and create competitiveness for our customers.
Operation principle: Electrostatic collection of radon daughters generated in a known volume.
Detection process: Radon gas, 222Rn, diffuses into the detection chamber. The generated daughter product, 218Po, is electrostatically collected on the detector and the decays are counted. Compensation for sensitivity variations due to temperature and humidity is included.
Measurement range: 0 - 9900 Bq/m³
Accuracy: Each unit is calibrated for an absolute accuracy of 10%. Statistical variations give a standard deviation 20% at one hour of measurement and 200 Bq/m3.
Sensitivity: 25 CPH at 200 Bq/m3 in dry air.
Time resolution:
Serial Communication: Rolling average of radon gas concentration, temperature and humidity over one hour is sent every 15 minutes over the serial port.
LoRa: A message containing radon gas concentration, temperature and humidity is sent every hour. The radon gas concentration is calculated based on the counts from the last hour.
The time to reach equilibrium in the chamber is less than 2 hours.
Communication: LoRaWAN or Serial, 9600 bps, 3.3 V via pin header on the board or via 3.5 mm FDTI Audio plug, LoRaWAN is available as an extension.
Internal data storage: 400 h standard, up to 15 months with LoRa extension.
Weight: 90 g, PCB only, 250 g encapsulated
Dimension: 90 x 90 x 65 [mm], PCB only, 105 x 97 x 90 [mm] encapsulated.
Power supply: 5 V 250 mA, during LoRa transmission, average current is < 10 mA.
Temperature range: 0 – 70 °C storage, 0 – 45 °C operating
Relative humidity: 0 – 95 % non-condensing.
Calibration: RadoSense X mini is calibrated against an approved reference instrument before delivery. It is recommended to check the instrument against a reference every year. The instrument is not certified for use in legally binding measurement applications.
